The EPS as an institution legally responsible for the safety and protection of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, their immediate families, government officials designated by the President for protection purpose, visiting dignitaries, diplomats, and other VIPs, the EPS must ensure that every element operating under this framework maintain a high level of confidentiality, respect for human rights and the rule of law, professionalism, as well as absolute loyalty to the State while being proficient and effective in the performance of the statutory duty and mandate as envisaged in National Security Reform and intelligence Act of 2011 through the laws of the Republic of Liberia.

The Executive Protection Service (EPS) is dedicated to ensuring the safety of the President, Vice President, their families, other officials, visiting dignitaries, and any individuals designated by the President. EPS is also entrusted with securing the Executive Mansion and its grounds, safeguarding all classified and confidential materials, and conducting thorough security screenings of incoming mails, packages, and items addressed to or intended for the President, their family, and other VIPs. Additionally, EPS inspects both the temporary and permanent residences of the President, works in partnership with other security agencies for personnel screening related to Executive Mansion employment, and fulfills other responsibilities as directed by the President.

The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is responsible for overseeing special internal investigative activities, encompassing departmental services and individual personnel matters. This section is responsible for managing the investigation of all complaints—whether submitted in person, via letter, or by telephone—against employees or groups of employees within the EPS. When warranted, it will take appropriate actions, which may include departmental discipline, dismissal, arrest, or prosecution of personnel found guilty of malfeasance or misconduct.
